Community Wellbeing

Developing Positive Behaviour.

At Gilles Street Primary School our aim is to create a safe, caring, supportive and productive learning community where children are taught the skills to be successful citizens.

At Gilles Street Primary School we acknowledge positive behaviours, listen respectively to students and provide opportunities for student voice. We teach children to be assertive and encourage students to be positive role models for others.

We are currently reviewing the programs and processes we use to develop student and staff wellbeing in order to strengthen our positive school environment. Previous programs and frameworks have included You Can Do It!, Kids Matter, student voice and peer mediation using restorative justice principles.

The principles of Restorative Justice centres on rebuilding relationships and developing more positive behaviours.
