Instrumental Music

DfE Instrumental Music Service

Students who will be in years 3 - 8 in 2020 are now able to apply to receive String Lessons (violin, cello, viola) through the Department's Instrumental Music Program. These lessons are offered free of charge and are run only in small group situations (minimum of 4, maximum of 8 students per lesson).

The only fees associated with this program will be the hire of an instrument (if needed) and purchasing learning materials (books etc).

If your child is interested in learning Violin, Viola or Cello please complete the ONLINE FORM by using the following link: Expression of Interest 2020 Instrumental Lessons.

Instrumental Music - Private Providers

Gilles Street currently offers guitar, drums and piano lessons through Private Providers.

Gilles Street Primary School is now calling for an Expression of Interest for Instrumental Music Lessons in 2020.

Individual or small group lessons (maximum of 6 students) for students in Years 3-7 will be offered. All lessons are 30 minutes in length.

Due to a number of uncertain factors, such as school timetables, structures and new DfE guidelines, we cannot confirm your child's lessons until the beginning of the new year.

Lessons will be scheduled during school hours and taught by practising professional musicians who have the appropriate qualifications to work with children and young people.
