Premiers Reading Challenge
The Premier's Reading Challenge is a literacy engagement program that was introduced by the Premier in 2004 to:

- Encourage students to read more books and enjoy reading
- Improve literacy levels.

The Challenge requires students to read 12 books between the beginning of the school year and early September.

At GSPS we had record numbers of students participating in the challenge in 2020.

By the numbers:
- 374 students took up the challenge
- 1st year certificate - 117 students
- 2nd year bronze medal - 62 students
- 3rd year silver medal - 55 students
- 4th year gold medal - 40 students
- 5th year champion medal - 36 students
- 6th year legend medal - 41 students
- 7th year Hall of Fame medal - 18 students
- 8th year Reader for Life certificate - 3 students
- 9th year, Reader for Life certificate - 2 students

Extra special recognition must go to these last two groups of students who have achieved the requirements of the challenge in each of their years of primary school.

Congratulations to Nicola, Noah, Hoan (pictured) Katherine and Maryjoy (absent) on this achievement.
